Chesterfield girls have been playing alongside teammates from Matlock and Ashbourne rugby clubs in the Derbyshire Dragons hybrid team for a number of years now and this collaboration is really starting to bear fruit.
We have regularly placed girls in the RFU's Developing Players Pathway programme, and NLD representative rugby sides for many years now. However, to take one of only three places allocated to the NLD to represent the area in the National Cup is a fantastic achievement and a validation of all the work and effort from players and volunteers from the Derbyshire Dragons partner clubs.
Round 1 sees us away at Oswestry, with Rounds 2 and 3 at home vs Crewe/Nantwich and Chester respectively. Best of luck to all our players involved.
